30DC – Update – Dropping!

September 22, 2009 by Scott Costello 4 Comments

30DCMUThis past week has been a busy one for sure.  Spent the early parts studying for my RE license class exam which I passed.  When I took the test I like to put a mark next to any questions that I’m not 100% sure about.  I like to do that to help me remember, when we review the test during the next class, which ones I had trouble with.   Of all the questions I marked, I got about 80% of those correct but I got more wrong I thought I got right!?!?!   Some were stupid mistakes on my part, others questions where worded tricky.   For those who are planning to get your license, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE WORDING!  They love to try and trip you up.

My Brother’s bachelor party was this past Saturday.  We went down to Atlantic City for the day/night and had a good time.  While down there I realized I’ve lost all interest in gambling and would rather keep my money and put it towards something worth while.   I’d rather Pay off my Car!  Just goes to show you how my thoughts and actions have changed in the past 2 years.

This morning I took a look at my newjerseyprobate.org Google rankings and I DROPPED?!?  I know all about the google “drop back to reality” and actually posted about it previously but it still stings a little bit.

Main Keyword: New Jersey Probate

  • Phrase Match: Was – 6 Now – 16
  • Broad Match: Was – 10 Now – 23

A few of my rankings improved for my other keywords which is good.  I look forward to the slow improvement as I keep working the SEO methods.

I also created a new squeeze page for probates if you want to take a look at it here – www.ScottyBuys.com/Probate

Now in order to get visitors to click through to my squeeze page I created an ad that I posted on newjerseyprobate.org and I will also be posting links in the resource section of my articles.  Here is the ad I created…

Sell Your Inherited House Quickly!

Just inherited a house and need to sell it? Contact Scott today and find out your options. You could be losing Thousands of Dollars by waiting!

10 more days of the challenge left and then I’ll be on my own to improve my rankings.  In preparation for the next 10 days and beyond I found some more article ideas for future content.  To me the best way to get ideas is to search Yahoo answers or a forum and take some of the questions and answers and base an article on those.  Came up with a half dozen ideas doing that last night.  To save the ideas I just copy and paste the text into google docs for a later date.

Nice squeezepage Scott. Might want to use the word inherited also/instead. Many people think that Probate is a term that the lawyers use. Inherited property is known by nearly anyone…

    Love to see you workin!

Have you locked into the free and clear strategy yet? It’s awesome. It looks like I just locked in my first deal and it’s a doozy!

    Cheers!

Thanks Taylor. You are probably right about using the word inherited instead of probate. I’m going to try and work that into my keywords for my site as well. I’ve been mainly focusing on the word probate, but I’ll do some research and see how inherited does.
