IM – Quick Update

IM CraigslistQuick Update…

I created the 4 ads and placed them on craigslist.  Actually I could only place 3 ads as craigslist said the Straight Link Ad and the picture ad were too similar and wouldn’t post both.  Since I posted the Straight Link Ad first that was the one that I’ll use.

I’m debating if I should post these ads on backpage as well.  It might mess up my ability to analyze the results though, so I’ll have to deeper look into google analytics and see.

In case anyone has wondered why I haven’t posted the link to my local blog, I don’t want people visiting the site unless they find it by way of one of my craiglist ads.

Tomorrow I will report back the initial results, this should be interesting.

That, and you probably don’t want someone coming across your blog and knowing all of your business … you might even be telling a story about that person. LOL! That’s how I see it.

I didn’t use it within my craigslist ad (although I’m going to look into that now). The way I can tell which ad lead to the click-thru was by putting analytics on my local blog. It tells you the referral links that people used to get to your page. At first glance it only says northernjersey.craigslist.com but if you drill down (by clicking on it) it’ll break that up into the actual ads that people clicked.

I would like to know how many views my ads get though. That would tell me if my headings are any good.
