I finally got my invite to use google voice. If you don’t know what Google voice is then go here…
It is a wonderful tool for investing as it allows you to give out one phone number on all your marketing and have that call be forwarded to any phone, blocked, have a distinct voice mail message and a bunch of other things.
If the caller leaves a message you can have that message sent to your email or transcribed so you can read it. From what I hear it does a lot of what ringcentral does but is FREE!!
Free but with one catch right now, you need to be invited (just like gmail was when it first started). I’ve actually got an extra invite that I’m figuring out what to do with.
I’m excited about this and will report back once I start using it.
Craigslist Ads
Just a small followup on my last post, On tuesday I posted 1 ad on craigslist and 1 ad on backpage advertising two articles on this blog and got a total of 10 hits from those ads. I think that is pretty good as I can imagine what a consistent ad posting could do for traffic.
Local Real Estate Blog
I mentioned I was going to setup a Real Estate “Blog” for my local area in order to attrack potential sellers. I’ve registered the domain name “RealEstateInNorthJersey.com” and will throw some content on there over the next few days and then start marketing it on craigslist, backpage and a few other sites to see what kind of traffic I get.
I still haven’t decided how i’m going to share my experiences yet, whether it be here on the blog with posts or in the Message Board i created. I’ll have that decided shortly though.
House Offer
I’m in the process of setting up an appointment to go see the house I want to make an offer on. I’m gonna see if I can get the lockbox code from the realtor this time, can’t hurt to ask right? I drove past the house yesterday and it looks to have promise.

Great idea to just ask the realtor for the lockbox code. I get push back sometimes but not as often as you’d think. Worst they can do is say no.

Many realty companies use the same lockbox code everytime. That can come in handy when trying to enter a house and the agent forgets to give out the code.
